Fire Retardant Paints and Varnishes
N.Y. Fire-Shield's ULC Classified fire-retardant paints and varnishes comply with Federal, State, and Municipal fire codes. They retard flame and heat penetration through their intumescent and synergistic flame suppression action. On contact with flame or excessive heat, our coatings decompose and intumesce, forming a thick dense foam layer that retards flame spread and heat penetration.
Our tintable intumescent coatings are:
- Available in low, semi, or high gloss overcoats
- Easily applied by brush, roller, or spray
- Developed for interior and exterior applications.

We suggest you purchase an entire 55 gallon drum each year to re-fire proof your haunted house each season. Place the material in a deck sprayer and spray on all cloths, fabrics, latex, wood, etc.
